The Devil’s Tuning Fork:  For this installment of The Devil’s Tuning Fork, we have the following tracks for your listening pleasure: “Chelsea Rodgers” from Prince’s album: Planet Earth, “Thieves in the Temple” from from Prince’s 1990 album, Graffiti Bridge, “Death Walks Behind You” from Atomic Rooster’s 1970 album, Death Walks Behind You and “Witches’ Dance” from Mercyful Fate’s 1994 album, Time which was released in 1994.

The Devil’s Workshop: ‘The Black Cat’ was written by Edgar Allan Poe. It was first published in the August 19, 1843 edition of The Saturday Evening Post. It is a study of the psychology of guilt, often paired in analysis with Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”. In both stories, a murderer carefully conceals his crime and believes himself to be unassailable of the crime. But, our protagonist eventually breaks down and reveals himself, compelled by a nagging reminder of guilt. This version of ‘The Black Cat’ is narrated by the late Christopher Lee. It’s recording is from Christopher Lee’s Fireside Tales which originally aired on December 30th 2004 via BBC Radio 2. Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee was an English actor, singer, and author. With a career spanning nearly 70 years, Lee initially portrayed villains and became best known for his role as Count Dracula in a sequence of Hammer Horror films.

The Midnight Hour: Gyps Fulvus brings us a double feature for this episode of The Midnight Hour! The first story is entitled, “Ghost Light Road”. It’s an urban ghost story about a couple coming back from Texas to their home. The GPS takes them down an old country road which just happens to be not only abandoned and desolate, but completely remote and blacker than sewage filth. The couple continue in good cheer until they are met by a certain apparition who is apparently still searching for his wife. Will the couple meet the white light that haunts them on the country road, or will they move on to brighter days? Only you will know by listening to the tale of “Ghost Light Road”.

The second story is called, “There is a Reaper”, by Charles V. de Vet.  It’s a chilling tale about a man who, having been told by his doctors that he has one month to live, wants to know what happens after death.  The only way to find out, he realizes, is to ask a dead person.  Little does he know, however, what exactly is about to unfold from this. Lo, but see for yourself, as Gyps Fulvus tells the tale of “There is a Reaper”.

The Devil is in the Details: It gives me great pleasure to introduce this installment of The Devil is in the Details. As most of you know, on the 23rd of September, I created a post which opened a floodgate of questions pertaining to the origins of All Hallows Eve, Samhain, Halloween, and greater magic. Here to answer these questions and others from an analytical standpoint is none other than the Church of Satan’s Witch Zaftig. During our conversation, I bombarded her with a series of questions from the listeners ranging from candy corn to costumes and from Satanism to sleep studies. That’s right folks, it’s a Halloween hootenanny with Witch Zaftig and Gyps Fulvus here on Satanic Story Time!
